What should be paid attention to in the maintenance and care of the Skin-Effect Corrent Tracing system?

The Skin-Effect Corrent Tracing (SECT) system, also known as the skin effect electric heating system, is an efficient, safe and adaptable pipeline heating technology. It is widely used in heating, antifreeze and temperature maintenance of various long-distance pipelines, especially in harsh working environments. However, in order to ensure the long-term stable operation of the SECT system, reasonable maintenance and care are essential.
1. Regularly check the system operation status
First, the operation status of the SECT system should be checked regularly. This includes checking whether the heating condition, insulation resistance and grounding resistance of the heating cable meet the requirements. The temperature is monitored in real time through the temperature sensor and the intelligent control box to ensure that the system works within the set range and avoid overheating or underheating.
2. Maintain the insulation of the heating cable
The insulation performance of the heating cable is an important guarantee for the safe operation of the system. The insulation layer of the cable should be checked regularly to see if it is intact, damaged or aged. If the insulation layer is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in time to prevent the cable from short circuiting or leakage. At the same time, keep the environment around the cable clean to prevent dust, moisture and other impurities from damaging the insulation layer.
3. Check the grounding system
The SECT system requires that the infusion pipe be safely grounded every kilometer or so, and the grounding resistance is not greater than 4Ω. Therefore, the reliability of the grounding system should be checked regularly to ensure that the grounding resistance value is within the specified range. Poor grounding may cause the system to be energized, increasing safety hazards.
4. Maintain the control box
The control box is the core component of the SECT system and is responsible for the control and protection of the system. The circuits, switches, and protective devices in the control box should be checked regularly to see if they are working properly. If a fault or abnormality is found, it should be repaired or replaced in time. At the same time, keep the inside of the control box clean to prevent dust, moisture and other factors from affecting the performance of the control box.
5. Handle faults and alarms in a timely manner
The SECT system is usually equipped with short-circuit, over-current, over-temperature and other protective devices, as well as automatic temperature adjustment functions. Once a system fault or alarm occurs, the cause should be immediately identified and measures should be taken to deal with it. For the fault point, it should be found and repaired as soon as possible to avoid the expansion of the fault and affect the operation of the entire system.
6. Pay attention to the standardization of construction and maintenance
During the construction and maintenance of the SECT system, relevant specifications and standards should be strictly observed. For example, when laying the heating cable, strong pressure shock should be avoided to prevent damage to the cable structure; when welding the infusion pipe and the heating pipe, the welding quality should be ensured to prevent leakage or leakage. At the same time, during the maintenance process, appropriate protective equipment should be worn to ensure the safety of personnel.
7. Strengthen personnel training and safety awareness
Finally, the training of SECT system operators and maintenance personnel should be strengthened to improve their professional skills and safety awareness. Through training, operators can understand the principles, performance, operation methods and maintenance requirements of the system to ensure that the system can operate safely and stably. At the same time, strengthen safety awareness education to improve the safety awareness and emergency handling capabilities of operators.
